Really this principle applies to everyone with different things. All of us have a challenge in our life or some 'chip' on our shoulder that tries to keep us from doing what we love. It could be fear of what people think, fear of things being too hard, rejection, people hatin, and believe it or not a lot of people are afraid of learning.

I personally don't think it matters if women should be in music production or not. The only thing that stops anyone in their lives is themselves. If a woman lets a man discourage her from her dreams it has nothing to do with the men that think that. What matters most is what a woman does with that 'hatin on women' mentality from men. If you have a dream, live it, breathe it, don't let anyone steal it. At the end of the day its about what you have done - not what other people say about what you're doing :)

Not all men are like that if they are they will be going no where and fast. There is no time for hatin and disrespect these days. Especially in pursuing music production, its important to surround yourself around people that are encouraging you to stay focused and passionate about your dream but who also can tell you - "uh, you need to do that over I know you can do it better.." or better yet can keep you humble and say - "that is whack!" lol

I think that women definetly have a place in music production. It shouldn't matter the backgroung or gender. If it is their passion then that is what it takes......So simple!

I for one as a female, think that we have every right to produce just as much as males, the only thing is that they did it first. Some guys have told me that Im a great producer and others beg to differ im sure but by no means do I allow that to define me and my producing abilities! There are times where I get discouraged and want to say to hell with it but the love of music and making it keeps me going!! So, go for what you know girl and keep doing you!! We all have somethig to offer in this music game!!!

-Peace

If it's hot why would we care if it was from a woman or not. Alicia Keys is heavily involved in producing and I think her music is good. Missy Elliot is also creative and she inspires you to shake what you've been blessed with.

Of course women should be involved in this bussiness as with anything else in this world. It's their natural right and I personally do not have any issue with the idea at all. Thanks to my mother and sister every women I have relate wit have always been on such a special level. Through my experiences growing up I have learned to view the same sex as nothing more than bussiness men if I really want to prosper in my career. without women (as in bussiness women and girl friends) the whole bussiness would be laim.

I support the feminine involvement in the Music business, cuz they've always contributed vocally. We've got great names like mariah,Queen latifah,MC Lyte,Missy Elliot,Nelly Furtado and so on just to mention few. These are giant writers and producers,so why shouldn't they be part of it.Besides, they make great impact in todays colabs regardless of their musical ability.I've witnessed talented women overshadowing their men counterparts.
To me is all about the ability and passion to pull the crowd, sell millions of records and be consistent. For example Mariah Carey is one of female artist who has always touched the heart of fans on her albums and during collaboration efforts eg with Boyz -II- Men,Puffy,Jay-z.And that's re-invention of r'n'b.

I find it interesting that you asked only the males this question like it would make any difference what they think ;) LOL None the less, it is a good question....Here's my answer: If a woman is meant to do something there is nothing and no one in this world that can stop her...except herself.
How would a mass movement of female producers effect the music industry?? We would only, and could only....make it better. Any area of life that is only male dominated (from a society's perspective) is off balance...Woman bring to the table what men can't and vice versa. Do we have to overcome more and fight harder to get there? Absolutely...but all the more respect when we get there...keep your head up momma, and stay focused on the prize.
